悉尼Eastwood中国城讨论会首次召开

11月2日，悉尼Eastwood中国城启动了社区项目系列研讨会。现场满溢着对未来的憧憬。各路关心社区发展的华人齐聚一堂。会上，Eastwood中国城法律顾问卢贵唐介绍了当前关于社区发展的利好政策，包括新州550万澳元的社区项目津贴政策。Eastwood中国城这个曾经承载着不少华人移民希望的小区，今年早前在多方努力下如愿纳入2024年新州Uptown项目名单，与三十多个活力四射的社区共同点亮新州的“霓虹灯社区矩阵”。

On 2 November, Eastwood Chinatown hosted its firsts ession of the 145CT community seminars, brimming with enthusiasm and a future-forward spirit. Representatives from various project teams, including those from Burwood, Campsie, Blacktown, Parramatta, and even the Central Coast, attended the Saturday seminar. Guitang Lu, the advising lawyer on the 145CT Project, explained about the policies of the NSW Uptown program and shared the news that the NSW Government is allocating $5.5 million for Round 3 of the Uptown Grant Program, with applications opening in December 2024. Eastwood Chinatown, a long-anticipated landmark within the local Chinese diaspora, is honored to be included in the 2024 NSW Uptown Grant Program, joining over thirty vibrant communities that together illuminate the state's “Neon Grid” community network.

Eastwood中国城项目的入选，意义非凡。作为华人社区重镇，它不仅象征着中西文化的交融，也让世代相承的中华文化在异国他乡更有可能熠熠生辉。中国城项目吸引了广泛的社会关注，不仅将进一步推动Eastwood的经济和文化发展，也将为丰富悉尼的多元社区面貌贡献一份独特的华人色彩。

The inclusion of Eastwood Chinatown is profoundly meaningful. As a major hub of the Chinese community, it not only symbolizes the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures but also breathes new life into a legacy of Chinese culture, bringing it to prominence in a foreign land. This project has drawn significant public attention in the Chinese community, with promises not only to boost Eastwood’s economic and cultural growth but also to enrich Sydney’s multicultural landscape with a distinctive Chinese taste.

在这次会议中，参与者们纷纷表示，Eastwood中国城的建设不仅能为华人带来归属感和自豪感，以其筹建为主题的社区论坛，更将是更多社区成员共享文化、交流思想的平台。为展示华人文化风采、促进族裔团结的使命，形成与小印度、韩国城等项目并驾齐驱的文化风景线贡献一份力量，也照亮社区的前行之路。

During the semiars, attendees consented that establishing Eastwood Chinatown would bring the Chinese community a renewed sense of belonging and pride. The community forum, which is centered on its development, is set to become a platform for cultural exchange and shared ideas among even more community members. With its mission to showcase Chinese culture and foster community unity, Eastwood Chinatown aspires to stand alongside projects like Little India and Koreatown, contributing to a vibrant cultural tapestry and lighting the path forward for the community.

本次讨论会上，卢贵唐律师也特别为华人文艺社团提供了津贴申请指南，希望华人文艺社团能更好地在异域他乡传播中华文化、增进社区联结，为社区成员带来艺术滋养，也进一步拉近了不同文化群体之间的距离。

At this session, the lawyer Guitang Lu also provided guidance on application for NSW arts and cultural funding. These supports may help community organisations with multicultural exchange, enhance community bonds, and bring artistic enrichment to community members, further bridging the gaps between different cultural groups.
